Story
There are very few real-world use-cases of the blockchain. Could you name at least 3? Usage which creates real value, and therefore, have people ready to pay money for it?
I interviewed several blockchainers and one of them (Tony) shared very interesting real use-case: digital copywriting. One musician created a song, and before he published it openly with a license, put hash of it onto a blockchain. After someone used his song without permission, he was able to prove in the court (Polish court) that he indeed made this song.
It seems technically very simple to calculate the hash of any file, send a transaction to bitcoin/ethereum/eos(dogecoin?), and share a report with all the necessary information on how to prove it. However, the average artist would struggle to create a crypto wallet, calculate hash, etc.
Idea for the project
Create an open-source web-service which accepts PayPal/credit_card, puts a hash of the file on to the blockchain and generates a report on how to prove that. Also, document every step and publish an article on medium for other people to have fun. It’s straightforward. Non-techy people should be able to use it.
Everything should be done over the weekend, in just two days (36 hours?). We can even make a online streaming of the whole process.
Mechanics of work

- Name of claimer
- Other pertinent information (an email address, details that help the proof)
- Payment (paypal, stripe, etc.)
Output
- Transaction ID
- Instructions on how to look up the claim without our help (they are a strong independent people, who needs no dev)
- Option to share on Social Media

Why are we doing this?
Let’s practice some real world “full-stack” blockchain applications! Development for Ethereum/EOS/bitcoin(dogecoin) and traction/product/business development for non-programmers.
It seems like an interesting task, fairly short and it has a real-world impact. Why not do it?

Tony told that we are crazy, that it’s impossible to do over the weekend and he with his company doing it since October (to be fair they are doing much more than that and it supports cross-blockchain, whatever it means)
